5 Tips to Avoid Future Drain Problems |
Tip 1 |
AVOID PUTTING ANY FOOD PARTICLES DOWN THE DRAIN
This includes grease, oil, leftover items from plate etc. The only thing that should go down the kitchen sink is water and soap (use a basin strainer to eliminate as many unwanted items as possible). |
|
Tip 2 |
DO NOT FLUSH HYGIENE PRODUCTS/WIPES DOWN THE TOILET
It’s very common for people to flush hygiene products, baby wipes, cotton swabs and other day-to-day items down the toilet thinking that if it didn’t clog right away that it’s okay. Wrong. It takes time for the items to build up and clog the drain completely, but when it does it’s a HUGE mess. Save all the hassle by disposing the items correctly on a daily basis. |

Tip 3 |
DO NOT USE DRAIN CHEMICALS
Although drain chemicals are supposed to be meant for the drain, they’re actually really bad for the drains and the environment. If you think about it, the chemicals are strong enough to breakdown particles and debris fairly quickly, but in the process, it can actually eat away at your drain pipe causing a much bigger issue. Save it for the professionals and let them snake your drain properly rather than using the quick, destructive method. |

Tip 4 |
HAVE YOUR DRAINS INSPECTED ANNUALLY
Getting a regular camera inspection can prevent any major damage being done inside your drains. If the camera inspection spots some troubled areas it’s best to deal with it right away. The best part is, we offer a bundled discount for the camera and snake if done on the same day.

Tip 5 |
FOLLOW UP WITH RECOMMENDED WORK
Sometimes after you’ve had a drain snaked it’s recommended that additional work be done as a precaution (usually due to the condition of the pipes) and this is generally for good reason. With Drain Relief, we only recommend work that is absolutely necessary to prevent more issues in the future. It is pretty well guaranteed that if the work recommended is not done shortly, that you’ll be facing another drainage issue in the near future. Although it may not be the right time at that very moment to have additional work done, try to make accommodations and have a plan of action. We’re here to help and to ensure our customers have the least bit of hassle possible. |
